NTA Dance Camp Announcement
from Judy Broers
To All Dancers,
Here is an opportunity that only comes a couple times a year to the KC area. The NTA (National Teachers Association for Country Western Dance) is presenting a DANCE CAMP on February 12-14 at the Holiday Inn Northeast, K.C., MO.
The camp is open to dancers of all skill levels. NTA workshops (where you learn fundamentals of dancing) will be offered. In individual rooms there will be one-hour sessions where they teach line dances, pattern partner dances (similar to round dancing) or couple dancing. You pick and choose what you want to attend.
You can register for one, two or all three days. (You can attend only partial days, if necessary, but register for the full day.)
It is a great place to learn new dances and new dance skills, which make you look better while dancing (yes, even square dancing) and keep you injury free. Plus, it's just plain FUN! There are even vendors to sell their wares!
More info on the NTA is on this site: NTA Dance
And for those of you who want something closer to home, Mike Salerno is teaching the NTA Level I (Steps & Technique), Dance Fundamentals I class in Lawrence on February 7 through the Lawrence Parks & Recreation Dept. He will be offering the class at Dance Camp, too, but if you can't attend that, you can get a two-hour course close to home. It will help you in all types of dance, including square dancing, round dancing, line dance. This is the first time this class has ever been offered outside a Dance Camp. Contact Mike for more info or contact the Lawrence Parks & Rec Dept to register.
The next dance camp in the KC area won't be until August.
