Report - 2nd Annual Summer Social
Greetings Happy Time Squares Members-
We have been hearing and receiving many complimentary statements about our fantastic picnic yesterday. It was another great success thanks to Connie for her expert planning and the cooperation of the weather with its mild temperature and cool breezes, and 78 HTS members that attended and shared Fun, Food and Fellowship.
It began with Vernon saying Grace. Sherry Brun and Charlotte Ikenberry then distributed mixer cards which served to randomly pair up members' seating for the meal.
Toni and Rosalee organized several games. Pin-the-spectacles-on-Vic was very popular. Then there was the water balloon toss, three-legged sack race, and jump rope. The guys set up horseshoes and ladder ball games. There was plenty of activity to work off some of the great food available.
Our club pilot, Vernon Nelson, drew a sizable crowd with a taxi demonstration of his large-scale r/c Piper Cub.
And there was, of course, the Fellowship (socializing).
Alice and Larry DeMoss did their great job of organizing the supplies for the picnic. They purchased all the paper supplies, and as usual brought all the drink supplies, etc. That was a tremendous help. They do such a nice job.
Thank you to all those who came early to set up, those who helped clean up, and those who brought yard games.
And, thank you to all our HTS members who brought food and participated in the picnic activity. This is what makes a club strong.
