Fellow Members of Happy Time Squares,

On Saturday, May 8, 2010, 113 dancers attended our Tiptoe Through The Tulips dance party.   Thirty-seven guests from eleven clubs joined 76 HTS members for a fun evening.   In addition to dancing guests, we had guests from Brandon Woods as spectators.   Between tips, either Judy cued a line or Vernon a round.

We had mid-evening entertainment by our Happy Time Stompers clogging group, with their first of two routines being Tiny Tim's Tiptoe Through The Tulips in line with our dance theme.

With such a theme, Tonya Ketchum and Betty Anderson decorated the hall with tulips as well as many other bouquets of flowers.   Greeters were Jim & Edie Boehle, Teresa Olds & Jim Pych, and Gary & Maria Sanden.   The refreshment tables and drinks were presented and maintained by Larry & Alice DeMoss, CJ & Pat Baker, and Lloyd & Connie Northrop.   Setup and Cleanup coordinators were Mike & Sue Bower and Robert Mugridge.

It is always neat to have callers in attendance and on the dance floor.   This month we had Larry Crady, Diana Wagner, Wade Morrow, Sam Hunsaker, and Pam & Tom Young, and Pam did a guest Round for us.

Visitors included 11 clubs:  Diamond Rounds, Camping Squares, Friendship Rounds, Ottawa Promenaders, Riverbend Promenaders, Shawnee Swingers, State Fair Promenaders, Strato-Jets, Swingin' Singles, TNT, and Wheatheart Squares.

Wheathearts marched to retrieve their banner.

This month we had a table set up to sell tickets for our annual fund raiser, Boots Bows & Barbeque.   Thanks to Lloyd Northrop, Toni Nelson, and Laura Morrow for manning the table for most of the evening.

One of the evening's highlights was a "mixer tip."   Caller Vic started the mixup by throwing in a few calls to separate partners, and then moving dancers first to one new square and then another, until few remained with any dancer they started the square with.   It was, indeed, a fun mixer tip.

Tiptoe Through The Tulips was a successful and fun dance.   Thanks to all HTS members who gave their time, and thanks to Vic, Judy, and Vernon.

We look forward to see you in another fun or travel dance coming up soon!
