Fellow Members of Happy Time Squares,

First, Rosalee and I wish to say Thank You to Vernon & Toni Nelson, our 1st VP, for standing in for us at the February dance on the 13th and our New Dancer Graduation on the 15th.   Also, a big Thank You to Dave & Barbara Neff for all their help during our absence.   We are sure that neither of these couples expected to be saddled with such a workload so soon into their "term of office"!   Neither did we, but were unavoidably delayed on our return.

Vernon & Toni did a broadcast to HTS Membership with a wrap-up of our dance.   We highlight some items here:

Guests from nine clubs numbered 54, plus 79 HTS Members, for a total of 133 dancers, 14 squares for the first Mainstream tip.   Guest callers Virginia Yerta and Diana Wagner split a tip, and Larry Crady did a duo with Caller Vic.   In Judy & Gene Broers' absence, Vernon cued a couple of Lines, along with an evening of between-tip Rounds.   We hear that Caller Vic made his round dance debut with Taw Donna to Frenchy Brown.   Several new dancers from Phase II lessons took to the floor.

A few HTS New Dancers, as well as some from Ottawa Promenaders were invited by Vic to dance the first Mainstream tip.   It was good to see them in attendance.

The hall (Church) was nicely decorated and we want to thank all those who helped decorate.   Thanks to all those who came early to help set up.   Thank you to the door greeters who gave friendly greetings.   Thanks to those who kept the refreshments going.   We really need to thank the cleanup crew too.   A lot of members helped make our dance a success and we want to say thank you.

Three clubs marched for banners:   Ottawa Promenaders stole our banner while Shawnee Swingers and Swinging Squares retrieved theirs.

From all accounts it was a grand evening of both dancing and celebrating Caller Vic's th birthday!
