Fellow members of Happy Time Squares,
Sharing Our Blessings Dance November 14
Join us on Saturday, November 14, for an opportunity to have a wonderful dance and to share our blessings. We encourage you will bring contributions for the Lawrence food pantries.
We thank Ace and Lareeda Hickey for once again volunteering to organize the drive and to deliver your contributions. Last week, they sent you an e-mail about the drive’s wish list. High on the list were jelly (for BP&J sandwiches), crackers, and toilet paper. If you want to make a monetary contribution, make any checks payable to Eckan/Just Food.
As an extra incentive, someone is donating a turkey for a drawing. Anyone bringing contributions for the drive will receive a ticket for the drawing.
Vic Perry will help you celebrate Thanksgiving season with his wonderful calling. Vernon Nelson and Judy Broers stand ready to cue round dancing and line dancing for your holiday pleasure.
The dance will be held at the West Campus of the United Methodist Church, on U.S. Highway 40. Plus dancing starts at 7:30, with Mainstream dancing starting at 8:00 p.m.
We look forward to seeing you Saturday night.
Veterans Day is November 11
Veterans Day is a time to honor our veterans for their service to our country. Originally the November 11 date was called Armistice Day, the end of World War I, and established to celebrate peace. The name was changed in1954 to include a salute to all veterans. We hope you will take some time on Wednesday to remember those who have served and who are serving in our armed forces.
