Fellow members of Happy Time Squares,
We Greet Autumn With Our Harvest Moon Dance
Seventy-nine members were joined by fifteen guests from five clubs for our Harvest Moon Dance. Although it was windy and chilly outside [not our typical October!], the dance atmosphere was warm and friendly.
Mike & Jeanne Bronoski, Rosalee Rainbolt, and Dave & Nancy Wickersheim provided just the right touch with fall colors and decorations. Keith & Carol Noe and Ron & Sue Wilson made sure our members and guests received a warm welcome. Dale & Betty Guder and Ruth Mitchel helped Larry & Alice DeMoss with the refreshment table and beverages. Vicki & Mike Hegeman staffed the check-in table. Thank you to all who worked together to make our dance a success. Also, thank you to members who brought snacks and desserts.
Toni Nelson received a prize for successfully completing Vic's crossword puzzle. We also give a meritorious reward to Toni for dancing after seriously injuring her index finger earlier this week!
As always, Vic Perry called a great dance. Wade Morrow contributed a lively tip. Vernon Nelson and Judy Broers cued the popular round dances and line dances. It looked to us like everyone was having a wonderful time! How lucky we are to have such talent for our dances.
Thanks to all of the people who stayed to clean up the church after the dance. We hope we don't leave anyone out when we thank Frank & Betty Alexander, CJ & Pat Baker, Dale & Betty Guder, Danny & Betty Lucas, and Bob & Rosalee Rainbolt.
Finally, thank you to everyone who came to dance and made the evening a success.
Welcome, Jim and Marilyn Dilley
All of us at Happy Time Squares welcome our newest members, Jim and Marilyn Dilley. When we asked them to give us some information on their square dancing background, we got this response from Marilyn:
I never wanted to square dance but Jim had danced before and thought it would be fun for us. My dad was a caller years ago and gave square dance lessons as well. I had no interest during that time and of course regret that now. We started lessons in the fall of 2004 with Steve Hackman's club at the Blue Ridge Mall. The next fall we took lessons again with the Docey Dandies and joined that club when our lessons were complete. We visited the Happy Time Squares a couple of times one summer and thought it was a fun club. We decided this past summer to join the Happy Time Squares. Everyone was so nice and made us feel welcome.
See you at the November dance!
Jim and Marilyn, we are happy that you felt welcome and look forward to seeing you at our future dances. Welcome to our club.
Lessons Continue - Angels Invited!
We encourage angels to come to our lessons on Monday evening at Centenary United Methodist Church - 7:00 p.m. Some of our regular angels will be gone next week, so we encourage you to come and enjoy the evening with our new dancers.
